I have had the opportunity to visit some remote places around the world and to visit some beautiful places here in America.
Pictures I have taken in the past few years in Oregon and Washington State.
I had a great opportunity to travel to Baja California in March 2012 with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions. Here are some of my favorite images.
Back in 1984, we spent a summer in Washington, D.C. I've been back several times since I graduated college and still enjoy seeing our nation's capital.
Ever since I can remember, I wanted to visit the Galapagos Islands. I even went to college to study marine biology after learning about Charles Darwin and all the species of animals there. In April of 2010, I put myself on a waiting list for a trip with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions and a few weeks later, got a call that a spot had opened up on an expedition - that was leaving in two weeks. I took the spot and frantically packed for the next two weeks of my life.
In November 2013, I set off on the National Geographic Explorer from Ushuaia, Argentina to spend over 20 days sailing to South Georgia, the Falkland Islands, the South Orkney Islands and then to Antarctica. Words can't begin to describe this expedition!
Rapa Nui - if it is not on your bucket list, it should be. This island is magical. Seeing the Moai in person is unbelievable, to say the least. They will leave you in awe. But what is most impressive is that the Rapa Nui people not only carved these giant statutes, but moved them from the quarry down to their alters.
I spent a week on the National Geographic Sea Bird exploring Alaska's coast.
In September 2014, I boarded the National Geographic Orion in Singapore and we cruised to Pulau Lintang, Pulau Senua, Besar, Sarawak, went to Bako National Park, visited Camp Leakey, Kumai and on to Bali. I stayed a few days in Bali once I got off the ship.
